Lodging Options at Ghost Ranch

From the Ghost Ranch website, you can expect:

  • A welcoming, beautiful and sacred space
  • Simple, rustic lodging
  • A place to disconnect from the everyday grind
  • Space to explore what nourishes your heart and soul
  • Outdoor beauty with adventure for those who seek it
  • Meet new people during your shared experience

There are many options for sleeping arrangements at Ghost Ranch, and they range in comfort and price. Please take a few minutes to read this information, for the best chance at getting the lodgings you prefer. All options are limited, and will be available until sold out. For current availabilities and prices, go to the Registration Page.

Ghost Ranch is an historic site, with many rooms and facilities dating back to the earliest days of its ranch past. This is a big part of its charm! Let the simplicity and sense of the past, as well as the gorgeous southwestern architecture and sensibility, provide you with inspiration and peace, in the place of more luxurious, but perhaps less personable and nature-based, types of lodgings.

All rooms are clean, and come with full bedding and towels. See Ghost Ranch pictures and fuller descriptions of all lodging.

Lodging Options:

Rooms with a Private Bath – Singles and Doubles available

These rooms come in two types, all with private bathrooms. If you have a preference for one of these types, let us know, while supplies last. We cannot guarantee your first choice, especially for later registrants.

  • Charming older adobe rooms (see top left-hand picture, above): These are for participants who really want to enjoy the feeling and aesthetic of old southwestern architecture. Many of them come with beautiful old talavera tiles in the bathrooms and attractive kivas (southwestern-style fireplaces). They are more rustic, less modern, and worn a bit around the edges.
  • Newer motel-type rooms (see top middle picture, above): These are for participants who prefer modernity and newness over rusticity and personality. Everything is quite new!

Rooms with a Semi-Private Bath – Singles only

A slightly more affordable, yet still very private, option! This is a single room, with a bathroom that is shared with one other person who is lodged in an adjoining room. These also come in the two types described above.

Rooms with Communal Baths – Singles and Doubles available

This is a wonderful option if you are looking for a more affordable room. (See top right-hand picture, above.) If you make this choice, you will be sharing large bathrooms that have toilets, sinks and showers with other lodgers. The baths are outside your room, and down an exterior portico. In May, the weather should be fine for this option, but please know that to go to the bathroom or use a shower, you must walk outside, and then go inside the large bathroom. These are pictures of a sample exterior portico, and a sample bathroom:

Camping

Imagine waking up to birdsong and sunrise streaming into your tent or RV! Campsites are in a beautiful box canyon behind the rest of the campus. The camp grounds have their own separate bathrooms, utility sinks, and laundry facilities. Some sites have shelters, others do not. Some sites also have electrical hookups. A very few have full RV hookup — these will run out quickly! Please note that the campgrounds are about a half mile walk from our main meeting rooms and dining room. You can of course drive back and forth if you prefer.

Commuters

Commuter participants have no lodgings, but they have all the program as well as three meals every day. There are a few inns, lots of Airbnbs, and one large state-run campsite in Abiquiú, which is a 20 minute drive away. At Ghost Ranch, there are plenty of lovely places to hang out or hike during the day.

An Extra Note about Doubles!

If you choose a double, whether with a Private Bath or with Communal Baths, we encourage you to do so with a preferred roommate. If you do not have one, we will endeavor to match you with someone. However, if we are unable to find a roommate for you, we will ask you to choose one of the other lodging options. NOTE: Purchasing one double room ticket does NOT reserve the other bed for the person of your choice; beds in double rooms run out, too! To guarantee the roommate of your choice, register together or separately on the same day, noting your preference.

Our Campus and Walking Distances

Ghost Ranch is, indeed, a ranch. It consists of a variety of buildings spread out over a campus. It’s beautiful to walk and enjoy! Our meeting rooms and dining hall are clustered together. Some of our lodging is located quite close to these buildings, and others are a short walk away. The furthest are about a ten minute walk, with a bit of an incline. These are the ones with the most beautiful views! It is possible to drive back and forth from lodgings to our meeting rooms.

Please see the campus map to the right. (Click on the image to enlarge.) You’ll see the Dining Hall and Agape Worship Center (near #4), which is our main meeting area. If you have mobility issues that require lodging close to the meeting area, please let us know. We will try to accommodate your request. Golf carts are also available for rent.

Other Amenities

Ghost Ranch has several museums, tours, and horse trail riding opportunities. However, our Intensive schedule makes it difficult to partake in many of these opportunities. We encourage participants to stay a few extra days to get the whole Ghost Ranch experience! Contact Ghost Ranch directly for information about lengthening your stay.
